Can't Delete Stuff from Start Menu

Hi
could you try with a wired mouse (not the track-pad) and see if the problem persists?

The scrolling function of a keypad requires the software package, whereas only the driver is needed for moving the cursor and clicking.

Try reinstalling the keypad software, which can be found on the Support Downloads webpage for your model laptop here: http://support.dell.com/support/dow...abIndex=&scanSupported=True&scanConsent=False

Save/unzip it to your Downloads folder and rightclick .exe to run as Admin from there.

Ah, yay, that worked, gregrocker. Now I just hafta figure out where to make the mouse a little less sensitive; it's swirling all over the place ~.~

@BFK

Like I said in the other post, I right-clicked the empty part of the start menu and went into Properties.

Then I clicked Personnalize / Customize / Options (not sure what this is in English?).

The top two on the menu that pops up (Activer les menus contexuels / glisser-deplacer & Afficher les programmes nouvellements installes en surbrillance) fixed it.

At Control Panel>Mouse, slow down the Pointer Speed at Mouse Properties, or look for Keypad sensitivity there or on the Keypad software you installed.

I searched Mouse and the speed solution was the first thing that popped up.

Thanks a lot, guys! All solved :P

Personally I never install the software on my keypads, because the scrollbar gets in the way so much I just end up uninstalling it anyways. But most of my friends want it. Scrollwheeler here.

Try drag and drop to the recycle bin.

cannot remove things from start menu

same for me rt clicking does nothing and nothing wrong with mouse and have done system restore many times and have even gone to C:\Users\(User-Name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu

where all the entries were listed and deleted the one i wanted and even that did not work. It is still there and NOTHING i can do to remove it. Also another issue on the other directory entries part on the right cannot remove an entry. It says the "... has been moved or... do u want to remove the shortcut" I push yes and it is still NOT removed.

But as i recall it may have worked at one time, but not positively sure, but if so it was years ago and i certainly don't want and in fact can't do a system restore to back that far. I did a sfc: /VERIFYONLY in dos and it did find things and it said can view in ....
and anyway i tried to view and it says access denied! so now what to do ?

It's a mousepad. It's integrated :s The mouse isn't a huge deal, annoying, but the fact I can't delete start-menu items is more annoying than not being able to scroll with my mousepad.
Have you tried an external usb mouse, just to rule in or rule out MB's keyboard/mouse controller?
