    It deepends on how fast the Hard Drives are (and fragmented), how much bandwidth is available how many bits can be packed into a single packet. There are a lot of variables to consider.

    It won't help because its not being used in this case.
    Remote Differential Compression is only used with established offline files and DFS (Distributed File System).
    Furthermore, it helps increase speed not reduce it. By only sending the bites that are changed.
    Well that's how it's supposed to work anyway...

    Can also google "Slow windows 7 network file copy". There is a hot fix and somepeople reccomend turning off TCP auto-tuning as well.

    Which is completely incorrect. The Remote Differential Compression is not the cause, nor turning it off actually did anything.
