need help with bios flash file

    need help with bios flash file


    I tried to flash my bios as it was not displaying optical drive but when I click the command flash bios it says this driver is blocked from loading and it shows error code 1725..what should I do??

    Try right clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator, see if that helps.

    Otherwise, fill out your System Specs in User CP and provide a link to where you downloaded the BIOS update from.

    Some motherboards now lock the bios so it can not be flashed. To check this, go to the Motherboard web site, or reboot and open the bios menu and see if there is a setting to lock or unlock, or otherwise protect the bios.

    I gave it run as admin,but is says check ur user accounts...I downloaded form acer website for aspire 4710..

    Ok, what type of motherboard (or type of pc) is it?
    And have you checked physical connections inside your pc? The optical drive connections could be loose.

    If you feel uncomfortable with that, take it to a pc repair place.

    my mobo can be flashed..are u sure it is only a loose connection or is it a mobo problem?

    either, but I believe a loose connection is more probable.

    But...given you inability to flash the bios, the mobo could be bad.

    How old is it? Under a year, then perhaps under warranty

    If it was a mobo problem it would never display optical drive right?

    Yes, if we know yor system specs, etc ! You may not need to flash the bios.
