    ivpo.exe using up my CPU

    Hi
From tome to time a process called
    ivpo
    .
    exe
*32 runs in the background. It uses up to 30% of my CPU and slows the machine down to a crawl for hours at a time.

I have googled it with no joy.

Anyone know if it is part of Win7 and what it does?

    TIA

    I am using Win7 64bit

Welcome to Seven Forums Win k. Next time you see that process in task manager processes tab. Right click on the process and click on Open File Location. It should open the location that exe is located. If not, try right clicking the process and click properties. Either or both should give you the info to identify the process. If you locate the exe and are still unsure, you can upload it to virus total for a scan:

I don't know, but that definitely seems to be a Virus.
    Try this:
    Go To Task Manager
Right-Click the process, and click properties.
Go to Details, and check if its content.

Thanks for the welcome, I read posts here quite a bit... great forum.

    Avira
does not detect anything on scanning.

Next time it shows itself I shall right click on it and trace it back to its burrow.

    Yup,
    Malwarebites
is good... will scan with that too.

After all these years I never realised I could right click in the Task
    Manager
    - chuckles.

    Thanks folks
