how do i know if my registry is good/default...

Hello, i was wondering if my registry was good/defauly because about 5 months ago a friend of mine was messing with my pc since i tried to downgrade to wmp 11 since i didnt like wmp12. he had trouble doing it it and i don't know if he saved the regitry once he changed it or not. feedback would be great thanks

Hi, ExplicitUrSelf.

If all your friend did was remove any leftover registry entries from wmp12, your computer should be fine.

I personally do not recommend editing the registry unless absolutely necessary. It is much too easy to do serious damage to the system.

To tell you the truth i don't know what exactly he did...i do know that he deleted and made a new registry for the wmp 11... is there anyway i can see what should be there or what not. i'm new to this stuff

If you're not having any issues, performance or otherwise, I'd be loath to bother the registry on an off chance that something may be amiss, if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Do you have a system restore point for the time BEFORE your friend fiddled? If yes, restoring to that point should take care of the matter, IF REQUIRED.
