    Howdy Steve,
Tried everything on the first link, no luck. Try looking at the other with a clearer head tomorrow. Thanks for the links. Goodnight

    Good Day Steve,
No luck. The only thing I didn't try is the wbengine download and rename. There is a version in the location specified. Prior to the reformatting of the E: drive, it was functioning perfectly, well I never restored from one, but they proceeded normally.
Now I keep getting the same error message.
Might you or anyone have further suggestions up to and including Restore/Repair Installation?
Thanks again to all for your kindness.

But are you sure your version of wbengine isn't corrupted? See below for a suggestion.

    And that message is?
    a 0x80070002 error
because of an unfinished update or
So I am presently unable to use Windows 7 Backup.

Continuing from above, I would try this:
https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html Even if sfc/scannow says everything's okay run option two, to double check.

You had asked earlier 'bout your folder's changing color....Have you seen green yet?
I know its been touched on.

This link explains it in XP:
Why does Explorer display some files in blue color and some in green?

And the same holds true for Win7:
What do green folders mean in Windows 7 Explorer? - Super User

    Blue = Compression
    Green = Encryption

Your welcome Glenn. Not sure how your life style goes, but mine's going to get a little busy here the next couple of hours.

    Howdy Steve,
Checking on internet suggests doing a chkdsk on all my drives as the first step. Will due. In reference to an unfinished update, this morning I ran MS Basline Security check and it stated that the previous error was no longer true. I have no unfinished updates. Hope that helps. Will do you check also. Get back when you can.
    Take care Sir!

    Howdy Steve,
Well, I did the /scannow in elevated privilege, Chkdsk with both options checked from Windows, E: while online, C: on restart. No problems noted on any of the above checks.
Found from you the article on Microsoft Ask Question a thread on the 0x80070002 error.
They suggested deleting Windows media player network access and enabling Administrator account. Neither has help.
It will do a System Image. When Backup with System Image is run it states, shadow copy of C:, Creates and finishes System Image, begins shadow copy of E: drive and fails with the above error I believe referencing the E: drive.
I tried in both my account and the newly created Adminstrator account. Same results.
Currently shallow breathing into a brown paper bag and awaiting an assistance that is offered.
    Oh, added system specs.

    Steve/Anak,
As this thread has been marked as solved, I started a new thread in the Performance and Maintenance Section. Hopefully you will continue your assistance over there. Sorry for being a wuss for not doing the wbengine thing. Should I do it. Is it easily reversible?
    Anxiously awaiting

    Well Steve,
I decided to give your suggestion via the links you provided, to do the wbengine.reg change. Was painless and explained fully.
But unfortunately it did not cure the problem.
    Thanks for your effort.
