Did you do a clean or clean all?
Hello theog,
I used Windows Disk Manager and don't recall it asking me to clean or clean all. It showed as a full unallocated space prior to using DM to format it. Does that help any?
Hello madmansam,
Other than the items I listed under the snip of the Disk Manager, it seems to be. I mean I haven't tried to run anything. But I can view the contents and they seem the same except blue.
I am also concerned about the missing System Volume Information and now that you mention it there are two files that were there on the original, MediaID.bin dated 7/8/2010 and a hidden desktop.ini dated today. Should those be copied over also????
Appreciate it!

Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command
I need help with my copy paste.Sorry.
Hello bludgard69,
I wish I had written it down. But to the best of my recollection as I had a 99% healthy primary partition and to the left that was 200 MB of unallocated logical space, so I tried Extend Volume....... the partition took over all the space. Then maybe I had to format it. I clicked yes and chose full and at some point it asked me for a if I wanted to give it a drive letter. And a long time later it was done. Open Computer, say E: New Volume, clicked on it to rename it and noticed a blue $RECYCLE.BIN. Now I read somewhere in here that blue meant compressed to save space. But I figured I get in touch with you guys while I continued to copy the files back to it. Again somewhere along the line I lost the System Volume Information, am wary of copying those two files back and lost the folder and System Image files that Windows Backup and Recovery created on this drive. So there are many little question.
Please answer them in whatever order makes sense to you'all.

theog,
You saved me from a small heart attack. It used to be so easy. Thanks that has given me great relief on those issues.

I'll research.I do know the whole formating-thing is crucial to a clean OS.
