    Help & Support not working

    Good afternoon,

One more problems with my Windows. Help & Support not working. When I select H&S button in start menu- usually I see the CHM viewer with notification "H&S not supported by this version of Windows". But sometimes it open some randomized chapter of Help.
I checked the C://Windows /Help folder. There are 47.5 Mb, 30 folders, 348 files inside. Some of these files have .chm format and I can open it manually.
Do you have any ideas, except of reinstallation, SFC, repairing with inst.disk? Which service responsible for Help in Windows 7?
I can attach screenshots, but only on Russian language...

    Thanks in advance,
    Oleg

    windowsapple,

Thanks for your attention. I have Windows 7 Ultimate (7600, Russian). So I think Help&Support should be available. In other things my Windows works perfectly, so I don't want to reinstall it.

    Thanks in advance,

See if it works normally using Win + F1 keys (Win = Windows key). If not, suggest running System File Checker:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Thanks for your suggestions. Win+F1 working, but abnormal. Help window opens, but at the random page, no pictures and at the top I can see word "_elburer_" or something like this...
Question about SFC command- is it keep customization of Windows (passwords, fingerprints, accounts, themes) and Windows registration (licence)?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
Looks like severedsolo has found the answer, but as far as questions you asked, you would loose custom themes as you would have to repatch your system, but they themes would still be on your system. The rest would not be changed. A Guy

You may need to download and install the correct version of winhlp32.exe. See this MS support page.

I cannot open Help files that require the Windows Help (WinHlp32.exe) program

Severdsolo and Bill2, I'd rep you both, but must spread some around (and I've been accused of spreading something in the past :) )

Yes, it looks similar! I have on-board bluetooth adapter. I will check registry today and will update you tomorrow. I hope it should help me...
