My Documents Folder

I moved the "My Documents" folder to partition D.
(What a mistake though!)
Instead of moving the whole thing as a single folder, it moved it's CONTENTS!
Which means, when I click on D, I see the "CONTENTS of My Documents".
But, I expected to see a folder named "My Documents", and the rest of the drive D (which was luckily empty at the time).
Even worse, it seemed like D had actually transformed into My Documents.
Like, when I attempted to move the other My ... folders, I got a message: Are you sure to move a system folder into another system folder? It is irreversible, and they can not be separated.
(Which truth I had already witnessed with the previous move.)
It also seemed like a ghost of the My Documents folder still existed on the original location (C:\Users...). Like when I created a new folder and tried to name it "My Documents", a duplicate name message would appear.
I put it back with lots of difficulty, and would like to know how to accomplish this task.
Pleeeeeeeeez help.

If you used the proper method for moving the folder (thru folder properties > Location tab), you probably made a classic mistake by moving it to the D drive without defining a documents folder on D first and move it to that folder instead of to the drive. Now your folder is equal to the drive - bad news.

I suggest you do the following:

1. Reestablish the default location for the documents folder. Here is how: User Folders - Restore Default Location
2. Cleanup D (after you made sure all your documents files are back to the defauld location)
3. Define a folder on D - call it Documents
4. Go to properties > location tab of your reestablished documents default folder and move it to the newly defined Documents folder on D. That way things will be properly done.
The same can be done for Picures, Videos, Music, etc. But you always have to move them to a defined folder on D - not to the drive.

If i move My Documents folder on the D / E partition,what's happent with the saved games from My Documents ?
They will save themselves again in another "new create " My Documents folder,in C ?

How do you save those games? Usually you can define the folder to where they are being saved.

I don't know, but i think that's not possible.
But if you can do that,just tell me, please, how do you save some games ( Grid, Crysis ) into another folder ?!

If you follow the instructions above to properly move your documents folder, windows redirects anything that points to "my documents" to the new folder by way of symbolic link or junction. So any file or subfolder that resides in the user documents on C:\ will actually be linked from the new location, including the savegames.
