    Upgrade to full product.

    Hiya,

Fairly new to this, and this is my first post here. I'm loving Windows 7 at the moment, but was wondering when the "full" product is released, do I need to do a fresh install, or will I be able to buy a key to activate the full product? Many thanks!

EDIT, Ignore me, found the answer!

Hi Tomahawk, welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy your stay :)

Microsoft will no doubt have several little tweaks & updates that they will have in the RTM. I would not be supprised if you will need to buy the RTM, i for 1 will to finally show my support for M$...

Id doubt a beta key would work with the RTM.

Im also new at this, however if i remember right on the download page threw microsoft it says that the RC will expire june of 10. After it expires it said that we will have to do a clean install of another operating system. Im sure being its the Rc we will have to get a fresh copy being we dont have the perfected system.

    Just my two cents

Windows 7 will be on the shelves long before you have to worry about another OS.

The OP is asking if he can simply upgrade to the RTM version when he buys it, or if he'll have to do a clean install.

When the gold version is released, I'm pretty confident an upgrade will be available as not much will change from the RC.
