    Icon Cache - Rebuild

You may want to try to rebuild the icon cache

Just to protect yourself I would
    Scan with my anti virus

    Download and run malwarebytes
    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware: Malwarebytes

Then clean out any remnants of any software with ccleaner

The first two are more of protection than a cure. Any unexpected change should be checked with a scan with the anti virus.
The third will clean out any remnants of software that has been uninstalled.
