At a command prompt the command "D:" [ENTER] is used to switch to the D: drive, not "CD D:". "CD \abc" [ENTER] is used to change to the \abc directory from the current directory of the current drive.

use "CD xxx" to change to a different folder, where "xxx" is the name of a folder on the current drive. (embed the folder name in quotes if it contains spaces).

To change drives, use only the drive letter and a colon. In your case, to change to D, you will use "D:" (without quotes).

You're not stupid. We all sometimes hit a road block in the information superhighway, so relax, ok?

And this is what SevenForums is here for, as is out sister site, Vista forums. We will strive to answer any question, no matter how small.

I can't speak for the other members here, but my own personal goal in life is to give knowledge freely in such a manner so that the recepient no longer needs my services, and is in a position to be able to learn for themselves, and eventually pass on their own knowledge to other, just as I have done.

And welcome to the forums Hiul. Glad to have you here.
