Windows 7: Inconsistent sleep issues.

Inconsistent sleep issues.

I am using Windows 7 exclusively as a media center (using Windows 7 Media Center).

From Media Center, when I click the "sleep" icon, the system appears to sleep, but never does, and after 5-10 minutes, system shuts down entirely only to get the "improper shutdown" screen when I restart.

Has anyone experienced this, and found a solution?

System specs:

ASUS M3A78-EM AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5050e Brisbane 2.6GHz Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core processor

4g ram

Thanks for any help..

I have experienced some unexpected sleep behavior/issues that were caused by a conflict between my machines power manager and Windows 7's power options. The laptops driver kept resetting Windows 7's power options settings. I removed the laptops power manager (waiting for the vendor to release Windows 7 compatible version) and am just using Windows 7's power options to control the settings for now and all is good again.
