    Driver Problems

    Hello guys.

I really hope u can help my on this one.

    Problem:
I can`t update my video card drivers beyond 186.18, any other driver after that, will cause the installation to freeze or go into a black screen in some cases, with other drivers the instalation its successful but after that it freezes on windows startup or just after the desktop its loaded.
i have tried to remove all old nvidia drivers + folders and registry before update to new ones, but nothing seems to help.
i really need to update my drivers so i can have full support for new games.

besides i cant find the Nvidia control panel with this driver, already tried to re-install it.

Thanks, i`ll be waiting any answers.

Are you using nvidia's un-install tool to remove all traces of the current drivers? what gfx card do you have? what games are you trying to run?

    Hello !
I'm new on this forum...and I have a problem.I hope you can help me.

I have ATI Radeon 9550 / X1050 Series(Microsoft Corporation - WDDM), but Aero doesn't work. It says that my card driver does not support Aero.

When I try to update the card driver it says : "The best driver software for your device is already installed."

When I go in Device Manager -> Display adapters -> ATI Radeon 9550 / X1050 Series i got an error : "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

And when I want to play ,for example Solitaire, I have this message:
"Hardware acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow game performance. Make sure you have the lastest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned on.

I don't know what to do. Can anybody help me please ?

This question should have been posted as a new thread.

    However,

    ATI Catalystâ„¢ Legacy Display Driver

The 9550 has been given "legacy" status, meaning that driver development for it has stopped. However, the Catalyst drivers from February of 2010 (10.2) support it. They're WDDM 1.0 (Vista) drivers, but that is enough to give you Aero Glass.

hello pebbly, already tried to install that driver yesterday, but its not working, windows keep freezing at startup, nothing after 186.18 works for me.

thanks for the post about how to remove drivers, but i think thats not the problem since i delete everything before installing a new driver.

i`ve been thinking, could be a problem with the motherboard chipset? (Ati chipset)

I don't have Aero Glass, or another Aero effects.
Another problem: when I want to star an .exe application , I got the NSIS error.

I tried to install three times Windows 7 :
    1.from a CD (from a friend)
    2.from two different torrents.

Oh, I forgot to say that I have Windows 7 and Windows XP on my computer, and I have installed Windows 7 from XP.

    My RAM : 2,50 GB
    processor : Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2,93 Ghz

Hi lostsoul777, i'm sorry i must have missed your post , 2 things to do now
1 = update the chipset driver
2 = if needed, and you feel confident in doing so , update the bios
