dont worry they are.............
if you use the on screen display with MSI afterburner you can monitor you video usage ingame
some games use more ram than others and utilising anti alaising , anisotropic filtering , transparency aa and ambiant occlusion help to eat up that 1GB
if your ram wasnt being utilised your games would stutter and skip and be unplayable
