and the old card was a evga 8800 GTS 320mb
Looks like the power supply should be adequate, although not excessive (18A on each of two +12V rails).

Why were you using a Molex-to-PCI-E adapter while you had two PCI-E power cables available?

Can you boot into Safe Mode (F8)? That would test whether there's a driver issue.

Incidentally, the normal method to swap video cards is:

With the original card in place, uninstall its drivers.

Shut down the PC.

Swap the cards.

Power up the PC.

Install the drivers for the new card.

You may have a defective card. I had a card that gave what looked like driver errors, but an RMA (replacement card) fixed that.

If the card is OK, the ultimate fix might be to clean install the OS, but that's a lot of work.

ok so i went to the shop today looks like i plugged this in an odd the guy fixed everything changed my memory and added me another hard drive = me happy! so everything is fine thanks for your help everyone
