cant run high resolution movies in windows 7, plz help

    hi
im using windows 7 32 bit operating system currently .My pc configuration is 2GHz pentium 4 processor , 1GB ram , radeon 9200se graphics card with gpu 128mb. previously when i used windows xp i cud run high resolution mkv format movies, but now after installing windows 7 i cannot watch any high resolution movies, whenever i try to play a high resolution movie using windows media player classic the video doesnt run smoothly the frame/sec slows down. i even tried playing the same high resolution movies that i was able to play smoothly using windows xp but dat also didnt work. so therefore can anyone please help me to solve this problem and tell me how i can play high resolution movies in windows 7.

Hi guys, thanks to Zuma for that splendid tutorial.

I followed it to the tee on my Compaq nx7010 with a Radeon 9200 installed and a fresh copy on Win 7 32 bit.

The problem I have now is that I get no display at all on my laptop screen (1680 x 1050) but it display perfectly on an external 1280 x 1024 monitor.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Just Confused

    Solution that worked for me

I am not really sure if this solution is going to work for all of you. Try it :)

    1) download only display drivers (Catalystâ„¢ 6.2 Display Driver for Windows 2000)
(no need to move ati2dvag.dll out of System folder)
    2) start and unzip according setup
    3) install drivers manually
    4) restart computer

System should be up and running without ati2dvag.dll error (Restart and Shutdown), which is common with ATI XP drivers.

    My configuration:
    AsRock K7S41GX
    500 MB DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon 9200 Series ATLANTIS 128 MB

Yes it is possible to run windows 7 on it. It think this solution should work for basic office work, movies, music and even for some games.
