sinsow, welome to the frums.

When connected via HDMI, assuming the option is there have you gone into the TV's settings and set it to PC Mode?]

For anyone else that may like to offer some more insight you can find the manual for the TV here,

Since stormy13 was so kind to link to the manual please note that on page 23 it references the VGA connection for a PC. I have posted this so many times already that when a VGA connection is suggested by the manuf. that is the connection to utilize and use the HDMI for audio if not using the sound card or other external source. Suggest you use the DVI-VGA converter that should have some with the ATi card for this connection then follow the PC hook up instructions in the manual.

I have had zero problems hooking up to a Vizio 37" using a DELL XPS laptop with a 128Mb ATi 9700 mobile GPU using DVI-VGA, an Alienare M17x using nVidia 280m GTX cards in SLi and the DVI-VGA and with ATI 4870's in CrossFireX and the DVI-VGA, and with the DELL Studio 435T/9000 PC both with the 4870 and the xfx 5870 xxx Edition again using the DVI-VGA connection.

thank you stormy!

i have studied the manual, and there is no PC mode in the menu, only let me follow the wizard to connect the TV and choose the PC device.

it's strange that it can display under winxp, but can't under Windows 7.
is it the driver problem?
since the Vista, this problem has already existed.
i search the google and found many such similar problem, and also no solution.

thank you very much!
Philips 9509/93 can not display 1920x1080 using VGA port, and i need display 1080p.
if using DVI-VGA, i would like use VGA-VGA directly, because there is not any resolution promotion. (page28)

besides, there is no "unscaled" option in the mode menu when select HDMI port (page23)

Wild guess - but I think I know the answer!

Windows 7 has much stricter 'built in' HDMI compatability/anti copy RULES!

Thus for 1080p to work correctly you need to strictly buy:

1.3c (Certified Specification) 1080p DVi-HDMi adaptor
1.3c (Certified Specification) 1080p HDMI lead

You can't just go and buy the cheapest HDMi crap on the market, because there are at least 4 different 'specifications' for HDMi leads/adaptors !

Buy the correct leads and adaptor >>>

Then do this

There are two ways to connect a DVI device to your TV:
Side/Rear

Follow these steps to connect the devices:
  1. Switch the external device and the TV off.
  2. Connect the devices choosing one of the above solutions.
  3. Connect the DVI-to-HDMI adapter from the 'DVI' connection of the external device to the 'HDMI' connection at the side or rear of the TV.
  4. Connect the audio cable from the 'AUDIO OUT' connection of the external device to the 'AUDIO IN:LEFT / RIGHT' connection at the rear of the TV.
  5. Switch the external device and the TV on.
  6. Press the '信号源' button on the remote control repeatedly to select the HDMI input to which the external device is connected and press the '确认' button to accept.

i have deleted the driver (including inbox driver) including files:

C:\Windows\System32,

C:\Windows\System32\drivers, (including ATI HDMI build in driver)

C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\atiilhag.inf_x86_neutral_7d512c02e72ebd25\
after deleted these files and folder, the TV can display, if install the driver v10.8, the TV can not get the HDMI signal.(1280x1024@60Hz)

i have 1.3b HDMI cable in my hand, then i will try 1.3c.

What does it say in
Catalyst Control Centre > Desktop Properties > 'mode'?

"Current mode settings" should read
1080p@(60hz?)

If not
Set it/click on 'HDTV' + 1080p
choose 60hz? in drop down box (hz depends upon your monitor/TV)

If it won't set - you will have to get the correct specification HDMi lead and DVi-HDMi Adapter
ie 1.3c

1.3b might work - but I doubt it with these more modern TV's.

This brand works perfectly for me in the UK!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Labgear-Prem...798269&sr=8-17
1080p is also 'confirmed' working fine in the reviews!
I also checked their adapter specs on their website first, then bought two!
