I agree with chev65, you may need more GHz on the processsor, could be a bottle neck?? something is amiss though as I get a 7.8 score with my GTX480 and i7-860 with it running @ 3.3GHz. Could be a power supply issue, they need alot, the temps are normal, I get 48c @ idle and around 75c-85c under load. BTW a EVGA highflow bracket has made about a 5c improvement.

His CPU won't be a bottleneck, chev just means to get the most out of it and the best performance it's best to overclock it.

You're also running at a lot higher of a resolution on your PC compared to your wife's. Have you tried running WEI again? It's a pretty bad benchmark.
Well she only has my old 19" screen to, what is WEI i'm not the best with computers.
Windows Experience Index (score). You should be getting around a 7.6 with a 480.
    I get 7.7 with my GTX 470.

And, yes, those scores seem pretty normal for those settings. I agree on it being an unfair comparison, though.

19" screen with resolutions 1280x1024 Windows Experience Index still only scores my 480 7.1 tho the benchmark was a little better.

Think i will try getting my I5 overclocked, i just can't understand why Windows Experience Index scores my 480 only 7.1 with these resolutions.
Btw will i need a better cooler than the standard intel i5 one that came with the proseser if i find some one to overclock it?
