    video card


    hey im trying to download a copy of gta 4 and need a video card capable of direct x9 and cant tell if my v card is do able my box and computer only say i have intel hd graphics can someone please help me straighten this out

    Download and run Speccy. It should be able to identify your actual GPU info.

    I think it's important to note that, although the Intel HD chipset may be supported (I doubt it), regardless it's simply not going to work.

    GTAIV requires quite a powerful Gpu, it's not like many games where simply disabling options will help, at its core the way it renders simply requires a lot of power, and memory. I wouldn't bother trying it without at least 512MB of GDDR3 memory on a 256bit bus.

    I would seriously consider this if you haven't paid for the game yet, otherwise possibly consider an upgrade.

    If it does actually work, the frame rate wouldn't be playable.

    Is it possible to upgrade the video card in my laptop? i bought a laptop like 2 weeks ago and gta 4 today and it turns out my v card is to weak to play gta 4 thanks

    Without knowing the exact model, the answer will most likely be NO.

    The majority of laptop graphics are integrated (built into the mainboard).

    Which means that to replace / upgrade the GPU, you'd have to replace the entire mainboard.

    This is the best reply in your case. GTAIV is very grahpicaly demanding. Fabe.
