Ok desten .. last thing :PP i always recommend MPC HC but the point is in settings. To escape from that mode just ctr+c or alt+x. If u want normal behaviour find D3d fullscreen mode and turn it off!!. For best settings go to MPC HC forum or if u need really help, ask me.

One question

Isnt your build of Windows 7 for Ultimate?
Ultimate has build in codecs, as well as HD. Installing third party codec packs can cause issues. Vista/7 Ultimate versions include out-of-the-box codecs for.avi and others (except for blu-ray)

I understand Sirdan, and thanks for the tips. But thing I dont understand is, why do I have to manually do this things in Windows 7? is it programmed that way or is it the same for everyone? compare to XP, I didnt need to configure anything myself, I just need this to be clarified.

Yep rive0108, it`s the ultimate build, and I am aware of that Windows 7 contains a lot codecs it self. That`s why I am avoiding alot of codecs, trying to stick to stand alone MPC or VLC.

Try to change video renderer to Haali, from VMR9 to Haali.

I'm using KMPlayer... options/preferences/video processing/renderer

Good luck!

Where has this been noted/discussed? As I'm aware (after many postings and findings of similar and undiagnosed issues), there exists no understanding of why this happens and/or how to fix it.

Are you saying the pro version should not have this problem?

Ok i have found an workaround for this.. hope this helps..
my previous os was vista, lappy: acer aspire 5738g, intel t6400, nvidia geforce g105m cuda 512 mb..

had same problems after installing win 7 ultimate rtm..

1) if u change ur graphic drivers back to vista version.. (not for win 7.. means no latest)
everything is fine..

2) weird bug with win 7 or graphic card cause change in video renderer setting after installation (i use kmplayer, weirdly vmr 9 (windowed) becomes the renderer) and it cause pixalation..

wouldnt recommend haali cause its not compitible with win aero and theme changes to basic , which takes out the charm of aero..

PS I THINK its graphic card (nvidia) and win 7 compatibility issue..
so change video renderer to vmr9 (HQ), or evr or evr (c/a)..

I actually installed an early 181.* version of my card for Vista and it didn't help anything. So that may be a hit or miss solution.

This worked for me

I know the OP had problems with graphics card drivers. But just in case this is a problem with your chipset drivers, I found a solution (915 chipset).

Resolution problem with Intel 915

I think you can try updating drivers for your chipset series along the same lines.

Hope this helps (...and I hope this is not way off topic)
