    ATI Catalyst 9.5 Install Issue

Well. It's more than an issue. I'm runnung win 7rc7100 on a Dell Studio xps witch came with an3670 Hd Radeon. I have used all the beta builds up to the rc in 64 bit. 9.4 Catalyst suite works great for me. However when I installed the 9.5 release Everything appeared to go fine. Installer did it's thing. I rebooted after watching it claim to install tons of code and ...there was nothing there?? No right click brought it up. It was not in my programs file. It was not in my systray. The only place I could see it was inthe features and files (the new ad/remove) so I posted on Ati 's site 3 days ago and noone has replied. In the meanttime I uninstalled the non existant program, restored to 9.4 and all is fine again. Anyone else have this happen? I see that it hangs for some people. No such issue here. The install "apeared to go perfectly" as it had in prior releases. Any thoughts on the subject would be greatly welcomed.

I run an AGP card, which normally requires the hotfix version of the driver. There was no such thing though for 9.5. So to my surprise, I was able to edit the .inf for my card and I installed through the device manager.

I thought games were going to crash because the hotfix fixes DirectX issues with AGP, but I fired up H.A.W.X which is a D10 game and it played perfectly.

If you post hardware id for your card, I can edit the .inf for you so you can install the latest driver though the device manager like I did.

Right click the video card in device manager, choose properties, then details tab. Change the properties drop down to hardware ids. Copy the top value and post it here.

Edit: I just looked in the .inf and there are no mentions of your 3670...so I can definitely help with this.

This would be FANTASTIC of you. If you need more let me know.

    I just realized you're on x64 and I don't have that version. I can't really get it now either because I'm downloading 7137 x86 at my connection's full speed...so...

run and extract the install .exe to a folder then close the installer, open the .inf (mine is CL_80628.inf) and add this line right above where all the other similar lines are. It doesn't matter where, as long as it's in the same section. Save.

    "ATI Radeon HD 3670" = ati2mtag_RV630, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9593&SUBSYS_0272102

Then install by device manager. Good luck and post back, tell me how it went.
