Link me a PCI ATI card that works with Win7 64 and available on amazon

Could anyone please link me a PCI only (no express, no x1 or any of that) ATI card that works with Win7 64 and available on amazon.co.uk? Whenever i do searches for cards I keep getting pci-e instead of just pci and the pci cards dont seem to work too well with windows 7. Im not looking to speed £100 on one either, just want to get a third screen up. So much harder than i was expecting. Really should have just bought a different motherboard with 2 x pci-e x 16 slots.

amazon are great at taking returns if things go inevitably wrong. plus i have huge amount gift cert. on there havent used up yet.
Just hoping someone else is like me, got windows7 and has only one pci-x16 slot but a couple spare pci slots and wants a third monitor.

enVida FX 5200 w/ vista driver 96.85. worked fine for me as a second card (PCI) Win 7 32 Bit. Under $40

The rest of the story,

Mixing it up Geforce GTX 260 and a Geforce FX 5500

and,

ati 9250 windows 7 64 bit

The 9250 doesn't even Vista drivers either, probably why it won't work with the GTX 260 either.

RiverCamp welcome to the forums.

One reason for yours working is that the 5200 at least has a beta Vista WDDM 1.0 driver, whereas the 9250 doesn't even have that, it has an old XP driver at best. It is also a DirectX 8.1 card which won't work with Aero (if that matters to you), and not sure how it would affect the Nvidia card that does (quite possib;y another reason that the card is getting the code 43 error).

Stu best bet would to find something like an 8400 GS or 9400/9500 if you can find one in PCI, as it would use the same driver as your GTX 260. Failing that if an ATI card best is something like this,

for the most part as long as it is HD 2xxx series and up (therer were a few PCI cards in the HD 3xxx and 4xxx series as well), they will at least have full driver support for Windows 7.

wow stormy, you even found the rest of the story. Thank you for your advice and the amount of effort you must have gone to. I think i've had enough of trying to use PCI card as they are so hard to find and have had compatibility issues twice now and even tried downgrading my OS. I am going to try and hunt for a motherboard with 2 PCI x 16 slots. The hard part will be trying to find one which will take my processor,

Ive never moved a processor before, people talk about it like its easy. Doesnt help that My computer is a Dell 9200 and has a MASSIVE fan structure in there at the front. I take it i couldnt use the case with the new board if i removed the fan or something?

The motherboard looks nonstandard. The CPU heatsink mounting scheme is not the one that Intel uses. I'm not sure that a standard ATX board would go in the case easily.

It's still possible to buy Socket 775 motherboards with two PCI-E X16 slots:

Newegg.com - Retail, 4, 3, 2, LGA 775, Intel Motherboards, Motherboards, Computer Hardware

(Newegg doesn't serve the UK, unfortunately, but they can give you a good idea what's on the market.) The ones above probably can't give you two sets of X16 lanes, but two X8 ones may be adequate for your purposes.

I imagine you'll need a new case. A new power supply might be wanted as well. Perhaps you could consider a more significant upgrade while you're getting out of the appliance PC market?

hey i had given up on getting third monitor for windows 7 untill i get a motherboard with two pci x16 slots.... however, someone linked me this: Newegg.com - IOGEAR External DVI Video Adapter GUC2020DW6 USB to DVI Interface its an external usb graphics adaptor that you can plug a screen into. Does anyone know if i can mix this with my geforce card to get three displays up and running?
