Can I rig a my x58 to use Nvidia AND ATI?

First of all, just so that you don't have to read my profile, I have a gateway custom X58 chipset, that supports SLI AND ATI standards. I want to know if there's a boot program that will let me choose my card individually at startup, and tell Windows when it gets into the operating system which slot to run, and which drivers to use. Is this feasible given that it supports both standards, and could someone give me a step-by step on how to do it if so?

    First "Welcome to the SevenForums."

Second: researched both Google, and Bing and could not fine a clear answer to your question. Never tried using two graphics cards together so personally I can't really comment on whether it would work or not.

Just Hold on and hopefully one of the other members may be a little more knowledgeable on this subject...:)

You'll be able to add an Nvidia card and plug a monitor in to it and use it, but I'm not sure what you're wanting to do? Are you going to have both cards connected to the same monitor?

You can install both card, install their drivers and just keep the card you want to use connected to your main monitor.

If you want to use both card at the same time, well, it's a yes and a no. There's an unofficial patch which has been primarily made for ATI users who use an ATI card as the main card and an nVidia card as the secondary card for physx, which I personally use myself.

nVidia was sitting on the bench doing nothing so I put it to use and after getting past some fatal intrusion errors at start-up, ATI & nVidia became best buddies and have been so for quite some time.

    NOTE:

In this physx case, nVidia does physx ONLY. It doesn't render anything else. That is the work of ATI because it is my main card.

If I am to chose nVidia as my main card, ATI will take a break, do nothing but waste power, as if it doesn't exist.
