Looking forward to seeing how these are against the 5000 series, as even though it's pretty much a refresh, still a lot of improvements going in to it.

It is interesting, considering that the core size keeps shrinking and getting closer to the size of an actual atom yet more stuff still gets piled in to it. And it's estimated that in around 5 or so years time a CPU will be as powerful as a human brain...

It is a good upgrade if a 5770 met your needs. I have a 5770 and will probably go 6850 only because of card length (case size). Most 6850 will only require 1 x 6pin pcei, except the ASUS. 6870 is what I wish I could use.

    compare to 5000 series

It seems that Amazon has taken down the page, but if you search for Radeon 6850, you'll see that the results say it's priced at $224, which is actually pretty cheap. Should have saved an extra $70 instead of paying $160 for a HD 5770 (the HD 5770 plays Crysis decently (Very High settings, 4x anti antialiasing) so I'm pretty sure the 6850 can play Crysis)

    I think I'll skip this generation. :)

The thing will do, however, is to get another 5770 and move the 5750 into my other pc to replace the 3870 that is currently in it.
