    Problem with video driver installation

After i saw ATI had released catalyst 10.10 i decided to update. I uninstalled the drivers restarted my computer i installed 10.10 (and something went terribly wrong around this point i guess)
    I got this after installation

and i restarted the computer again but after that nothing works - i can only use window's Standard VGA Graphic Adapter.
I tried removing Visual C++ both 2005 and 2008 cause i though they might be the problem. Didn't work..reinstalled them, not working again, tried to go back to 10.9 cause i though it was 10.10's fault but i got the same problem.
Last month i tried a different VGA on my PC and back then i didn't have any problems at all.
I have no idea what caused this to happen i don't think i made any mistakes..
    I use Windows 7 64bit, VGA is HD4770.

Use system restore to return to the good times. Then post for instructions.

When i checked if i can rollback old restore points were already gone.

I also just noticed that the ATI Technologies folder in Program Files is completely empty.

is the driver listed in "programs and features" in CONTROL PANEL? if so, uninstall it, then restart and check device manager. it should say "standard vga adapter". then you could try running windows update to see if it finds a driver, or you can install a driver of your choice.

did you download the 10.10 driver directly from AMD?

This won't resolve your problem, but before I download and install a new driver or application I always create a restore point.
I think it's a good habit to get into to help with getting your system back to where it was before as easily as possible. Fabe

Yes it was uninstalled from control panel and the pc was using only standart vga adapter even after driver installation which were downloaded from the official amd site.
Anyway i tried various things for hours and nothing changed - the only way i could make the drivers work was to force install them through device manager from the location ATI extracts it's install files...but that isn't good enough cause there was no way to run CCC.
I resolved my problem with a new windows installation and i'm still installing programs and putting things back to how they were.
I've learned my lesson and i'll make a backup when i'm finished and create a restore point before attempting to update drivers.
    Topic can be trashed.
