I've got an Acer Travelmate C302 tablet pc with the same video hardware in it. I've spent the last 3 days trying anything and everything to get the video drivers installed. I got everything else working under windows 7, but just couldn't get the video drivers to work. It would always revert back to the standard vga drivers, which weren't bad, but didn't support screen rotation.

I even managed to get it so it didn't uninstall the drivers at one point, but the drivers would always fail and windows would shift down to a 256 color screen, which looked horrible.

So I finally gave up and reverted back to vista, which actually works pretty good on my slightly upgraded tablet. (faster cpu, faster hard drive, 2gb ram).

Intel 82852/82855 graphics ctrl driver for windows 7

I have the exact same problem as "smcb" describes above, and would very much like to know if someone has a solution to this problem. My config is Acer TravelMate C300 with Intel Centrino M 1.6Mhz processor, 1256 MB RAM and Intel® 852/855 Chipset Family.

My devicemanager show an error with the display controller and is very frustrating because every thing else seems to work fine with windows 7.

    Please help...

I also am having the same problem. My resolution stays at 800x600 as the drivers are loaded as a standard VGA. Everytime I reboot the drivers are reinstalled but they somehow go away everytime I shut the computer down. I have a Gateway Laptop/2.2 gigahertz Intel Mobile Celeron with the same chipset. Windows 7 works good except for the resolution. Gateway won't help because the computer is too old and out of warranty.

There are many of us out there having the same problem. Maybe the solution will be out soon.

Lots of people with different configs have solved the problem by following the procedures described here:
Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller Driver Issues

..unfortunatly it doesn't work for my config

I just installed Windows 7 on my Core 2 Duo computer and everything seems to work. All the graphics, screen savers and Aero is operating correctly. It just my laptop which is a pretty old Celeron computer with that Intel graphics card. Eventually the driver will be found and will work! Great forum.

Now it works!! - on my Acer Travelmate C300 and the driver don't reinstall anymore. Is true that you have to be patient, but it don't make sence to me (to be patient with bits). Normaly, either it works or it don't - but not in this case I surpose.

To be a little more specific - I pushed on with the official Acer XP-driver from Acer support ver. 14.1.0.3762 and it finally works. I have tryed everything from all the threads in this forum and other places, and therefore I don't know what finally did the trick.
