I've just finished building my new rig which has a HIS ATI Radeon HD 5670 ICEQ 1Gb and an Asus m4A87TD EVO motherboard. I have connected it to my TV via HDMI as I have no DVI cable (or adapter) but I have no display whatsoever whether its the BIOS or when the Windows 7 Disk boots. Am I being a total noob and trying to do the impossible?
*There is no OS in it yet
One thing to check is that your TV is set to the correct HDMI input as most TV's have more than 1 input and that HDMI detection is enabled on your TV. Refer to your TV user manual or google your TV model number to find an online manual.

Does it display from the VGA port on the ATI card? Also what Power supply are you using? Seems as though your card isnt being seem!
Since there is no OS yet the only thing you would see is the BIOS screen. Also the HDMI output on the card may not work until an OS and ATI drivers installed. What should work is using a VGA cable and hooking it up to TV or other monitor using on board VGA display or try VGA output on card. Once you can see Bios screen you should then be able to install windows and ATI drivers.

You need a vga monitor. For some reason HDTV's will not show the bios POST screen. Analog screens will show bios POST screen. Just use an old crt monitor to configure things and then clone monitors to the HDTV.
i have the ATI Radeon HD 5750 video card and it works fine in hdmi on my rca 42in. hdtv..
i can see the post /install windows / edit bios. so maybe the card is bad.

My nVidia hardware will not show POST screen or bios with an HD input. Only analog.
maybe it has something to do with the hdmi cable? i got one thay called (gold) and i think it cost me around $59.00. there were some cheaper 1's there but the guy at the store talked me into this one.
