    Cheers.

Edit: That's quite an impressive card over the GTX480. I was quite surprised with the drop in power usage vs the increase in performance.

That was a preliminary review. That should be noted.

All I can say is WOW $622.15 for me with shipping and Tax
Even though I've never used ATI the 6870 looks really good compared to spending that much money on a GFX card.

To be honest, i had an incline it was going to be this month as all rumors and what-not gave that impression.

I must say though, Nvidia did'nt have this kept under wraps, damn and i just bought a GTX470 and a Core i7 and A new board and new ram and now i am broke and the moths have moved back in my wallet.

Guess next year i will most definetly be upgrading.

    Lucky

EDIT:: I was even going to be getting a second GTX470 but that idea just went out the window!!!

There's enough reviews out now the card has been officially released. So much for the rumours of this just being a paper launch, too.

Not a huge difference between this and the 480, a few more fpm and less power consumption I guess.

Well it's not worth the upgrade from a 480, but anyone still on a GTX2xx or even an 8/9 series who weren't sure about a GTX4xx, I'd say a 580 is worth upgrading to if they have the money.

    Definitely.

HD 5970-esque performance with lower power consumption plus less heat generation vs GF100, that's a big win in my book.

Although as a side note here, I gotta say, all this 'FERMI is too hot too loud issue(s)' is WAY overblown IMO, I have a GTX 470 myself, and with a pretty standard fan profile done on MSI Afterburner, my load temps never go into the 80s (high 70s). The noise?, yes that's definitely very noticeable, but as a headphone user, that's a non-issue for me.
