Hey guys,
I've discovered a workaround for this problem. Basically you can use a registry key to override the monitor advertising itself as an HDTV (by setting the number of EDID extensions to 0). Using the following steps, I am now getting proper 1920x1200 resolution on my LG monitor:
1. Start the installation of the latest Nvidia drivers and cancel out once the files are extracted
2. Open nv_disp.inf. By default for the current drivers this is in C:\NVIDIA\WinVista\169.25
3. In the [nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings] section add the following:
HKR,, OverrideEdidFlags0, %REG_BINARY%, 1E,6D,3F,56,00,00,FF,FF,04,00,00,00,7E,01,00
The first 4 bytes (1E,6D,3F,56) in my OverrideEdidFlags0 are specific to the LG monitor I'm using. For other monitors, you will need to replace them. Using, extract the current EDID and open up the byte viewer. The bytes are in byte 8 through 11.
4. Uninstall your current drivers and reboot
5. Install the modified drivers by running the previously extracted setup.exe. By default for the current drivers this is in C:\NVIDIA\WinVista\169.25. You'll get a warning about the driver not being signed because of the modified inf. Just press OK.
So i have the same problem as he describe above, with my GTX470 and Windows 7 64. Whats weird, that i built the PC about 3 month ago, install original Win 7 64 with all drivers. EVERYTHING works fine.
3 days ago i idiot wan to try a new driver for VGA. And i have blurry textures in all games. Ok i get back my old drivers, and still the same problem. So i reinstall whole system with the old drivers from original DVDs- still the same. So i try all the settings, resolutions, cables, another VGA and nothing helps . And now i google this thread with following help How to fix NVIDIA blurry or fuzzy screen or text caused by driver installation
Problem is, that when i try extract registry edit ,the pop up window is blank and there is no info, so i cant write the numbers to the drivers.
Here is the screen that you can c, no info about monitor on pop up window and on the left you c that my maximum res. is only 1280x960 ??.
Why was everything ok when i install my system firstly and now if i do the same with the same drivers it doesnt work?
Anyway its another way to get the registry numbers which i can write to the drivers?, or just detect my monitor resolution???
Now i think, if the driver dont do something with my monitor resolution.?

Help pls, i dont know what more to do.
thx for reply

Edit: yesterday i try to buy new cable and still the same even if i connect the Analog VGA cable-nothing
