    GPU clock difference?

I am running two 5770's in crossfireX. Both are from XFX with same model number. I just checked in CPUz that both are running at different clock speeds

can somebody tell why is that and does this effect graphics? here is the link if you want to see screenshot

Crossfire bug. One card is running at 2D clocks (low power) and the other is running at 3D clocks (full speed). Which Catalyst version are you using as it works as it should in some and broken like it is on yours?

    I'm using Catalyst version: 2010.0825.2146.37182

    Driver deatils are:

    date: 25/08/2010
    version: 8.771.0.0

What is crossfire bug and how can I fix it?

Looks fine. It's power saving (PowerPlay) where 1 card goes into ULPS mode (Ultra Low Power Setting) mode while in idle. If you have 2 monitors, the 2nd card has to go to full High Performance clocks else your monitors will flicker. Your cards will have many different Clock setting. ULPS - 2D/Idle - UVD/Video - High Performance/3D

Use something like GPU-z. Open it twice. One for each card. Show the sensors tab. Run a benchmark program full screen. This will put load on the cards. Then check your GPU clocks. Both cards should ramp up to High Performance/3D clocks.

    It could also be

If you only have 1 monitor attached, then card 1 should be in idle mode and card 2 should be in ULPS mode. In ULPS mode, the clocks can't be read properly so CPUID's CPU-z may just be reporting the cards Full 3D clocks.

what does CCC Overdrive report the 2nd cards clocks are. If it's 000/000, then the card has been temporarily powered down and CPU-z can't read the 2nd cards clocks.

in the upcoming Cat10.12, in CCC, ULPS can be disabled.

I know mate, I downloaded ATI driver from sticky post. Installed it, now driver details are:

    Date: 26/10/2010
    Version: 8.791.0.0

I hope that will solve the so called crossfireX bug.

Also now I am unable to run 3dmark vantage, when I run it, I get message windows scheme is changed to basic and minimum resolution not supported i.e. 1280x1024, how can I resolve this now? (it was working fine before driver upgrade)

That is what crossfire is and does regulate 2 gpu's to simulate speeds on demand
