Is Is Posible To Get A Graphics Card Lower Than Ambient Temperature

My mate was saying that it is not possible that my Graphics card can get lower than the Ambient Temp in my case. Is it possible with good enough cooling that you can cool get your GPU to sit at Temps lower than youe System Case Ambient Temp.??

Not a chance without water cooling or some mad scientist type methods. All air cooled GPU's draw there air from the case. If you could route plumbing to bring in air from outside solely for the gpu it could bring temp's down but I don't believe you will ever be lower than case temp out the back of the GPU.

This is my sysytems temps running idle, i have noticed that none run under the system temp.

Should my GPu be sitting at such a low temp, my mate thinks my GPU sensor is wrong.

Either all the temp sensors are borked, or you're sitting there wearing a heavy sweater with a window open.

If it helps any most of the reviews for the GTX 460 had the temps ranging from the mid 30's to mid 40's at idle. Bear in mind some of those reviews, the testing was done out of a case.

My GTX 260 OC hovers around 112 F and when working hard can climb to 125 F+

I think all my sensors are fine, its because it is really cold through here and the fan set up i have is quite good.

Yes it is 100% possible to get temperatures below ambient.
No, you cannot do this with air or water cooling.

You need to use phase change cooling (refrigeration) or something like dry ice cooling.

Well my Pc has 9 fans in total and a damn good cpu cooler, my GTX 460 has a nice and decent size fan as well. Some modifications have helped keep my heat down. It also helps when you live in a cold country lol.
