    Resize HDTV Desktop problem

In Vista Ultimate and Win7 Beta the latest derivers won't let me resize my HDTV desktop. It is set to 1280x720 but the start button and clock are out of view so I need to set my resolution lower. In Vista I could do this with an older driver and after that I can upgrade to the latest driver.
I have a Nvidia 7300GT connected via DVI to a Philips 37PF9830 LCD tv.

This same problem still exist with the latest beta driver(s) for Windows 7 I need to set my resolution to 1208x684.

When I do resize HDTV desktop I change the sliders but after clicking on apply nothing happens and it hassen't remembered my settings.

Also when I install powerstrip the advanced timer settings are greyed out.

I have reported the problem to Nvidia and they are investigating this at Level 2 (for what that means) and they asked me to be patient which I'm not.

Anyone know what I can try?

    thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem with an integrated 7150 on a 630i Nforce motherboard.

In the Win 7 beta I could not use the WDDM 1.0 driver because it didn't fix a reboot issue during boot when the computer was hooked up to my HDTV. I was actually forced to use a Vista driver.

Some time a couple weeks ago, the WDDM 1.0 driver updated on its own and the reboot problem was gone so I left it.

Then I did a fresh install of the Win 7 RC1 the other day and the reboot issue was there again so long as I was connected to the HDTV. So I did the install using a monitor and it auto-updated to the WDDM 1.0 driver. I plugged back into the TV and things were ok except that the "Resize HDTV Desktop" sliders in the Nvidia control panel do not save/apply any changes and I'm currently stuck with the overscan.

I've tried removing the WDDM 1.0 driver and installing an older Vista driver (like I used with Win 7 beta), but the settings still don't stick.

    Eagerly waiting for a solution.
