    Another Black Screen Issue

System: Dell 8300, 3GB, Radeon 9800XT AGP 256 MB, Win 7 Pro 32, Dell FP2100. Upgrading graphics card to ATI HD 3650 512 MB card. Had to go to 6 pin Y-connector. My issue is that I do not get my screen back after powering on - just remains black. My monitor power light (LED) will go green for 10-15 seconds and then go to amber. Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

Hello ShagNasty. Welcome to the forum.

    The card is not initializing.

When you took out the old XT, did you remove it from device manager first? (Sorry if that's obvious).

You might also check that Y-connector for good power.

Does your power supply meet these min. specs (Sapphire 3650):
"450Watt or greater power supply with 30Amps on 12 volt with 2x4 power connector recommanded."

I think I'm good on everything except maybe power supply. I have a 250w ps. However; If I press a any of the keys on my monitor (with black scree) I get the message "Power Saver Mode -- press any key or move mouse...."

Hello there, that PSU won't handle your new Graphics Card, so i would recommend a higher wattage one, with the specs TVeblen posted.

At least 550w one with 30 or more Amp on the +12v Rail

This could be an excellent choice Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V Ver.2.2 / EPS12V version 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply :)

Also, on the same range of prices http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004
