Windows 7: Wierd Random Artifact only on Aero Backgrounds

05 Jan 2011   #11

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

The last two times the artifacts happened, all settings on the graphics card were set to default. Also, I purchased 3dmark11 advanced today and ran numerous tests on default settings in extreme mode. If it had bad vram im pretty sure it would have showed up there. Tests went smooth with no errors. I overclocked the card temporarily for the test to 900mhz/1.187v on the gpu and 1100 on the memory to see what this bad boy would do and got a score of X3026 with no errors or issues, but other than that one time for the test, I have been keeping the card at default settings. Im thinking my next step is to force the memory to stay at 1000mhz at all times instead of letting ccc automatically ramp the memory down to 300 at idle.

Checkdsk hangs with 'artifact-like' screen
My checkdsk /r ran relatively quick, because I had windows 7 reinstalled only a few days go and I also formatted that partition. It's a laptop and the HD isn't that large, I guess around 250GB. It repaired the hiberfil.sys in step 4 and completed that step. At step 5, free space check, it...

Hey everyone I've recently purchased a Netbook with Windows 7 Starter installed. I absolutely love using 7 (it's a massive step up from XP) but I'm upset about not being able to even change my desktop background and to use Aero. :( Does anyone know of any good programs which could allow me...
Tiny artifact by the Start button
Hey there Se7en experts! I encountered a very tiny oddness which is actually barely visible. It's not even that annoying or something, I'm just curious as to what it might be and if anyone else has experienced the same. It seems to be just a one-pixel wide and about ten-pixel long artifact right...
