Output video from PC to TV

Hello I just got a new TV. TV has two HDMI cables. I want to connec it to my PC to watch videos.

Can I get a DVI to HDMI cable like so:
    Code:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/BELKIN-AM22402-12-12FT-HDMI-DVI-D-CABLE-/260602148090?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cad1934fa
Will this output both video and sound. My GPU has VGA, Svideo and DVI outputs.

Although I got a nice speaker system, I would rather play the sound through the TV.

Or will it make more sense to play audio from PC speakers.

Other question since card has Svideo out and TV has Svideo input will the picture be just as clear or better to get one of those adapters.

you can use the dvi to hdmi cable but you also need a mini jack sound cable . you can pick one up almost any where for about ($6.00) .it has the small plug the go's to your pc and it comes out to (rca) plugs that go to your tv. another thing you can do is get a hdmi video card i have the ( ATI Radeon HD 5750) and just plug the hdmi off my video card to the tv and it works fine with audio and video.

So if my GPU had HDMI out, where is it getting audio from?

on the back of your pc there's 6 colored plugins . plug the mini cable to the black plugin and the other end of the cable are rca jacks you should be able to plug then into the back of your tv and your done. i used this setup before i got my new card and it worked fine (but the video quality was not as good as just hdmi).

The audio is comming back from the playback option once you switch monitors resolution also when you go to HDMI the tv must be on at all time any turning tv off will break the signal as far as the 5750 go even the lighter 5670 has this feature also doesnt need xtra power to run

it is much easier to have a card that does all the funtions in one remember for the sound to work right click volume go to play back options set it to hdmi via card after the tv is on and recieved a signal then from there you Will be GOLDEN !

BUT .............if you are going old school SV video will work as well but won't look as good
