    Gigabyte 6950

It finally came today. I'm feeling a little unwell so I'll wait til I'm better before I start overclocking and benching.

    Nice.

Might go grab the 10.12, or rather the 10.12a one before benching instead of 10.11.

I'm planning on getting either getting a 6950 or 6970 next month. The 6950 price looks very good though, and I question whether I really need a 6970?

    Let us know.

    Thanks

I'll run some benches tonight and post here. From what others have posted, I wouldn't get a 6970. Just unlock a 6950 and you're good to go.

The more and more I think about it the better the 6950 looks, especially from a price point. Right now I'm still using a 4890 and haven't been hindered with the games I've played on it so I really have to ask myself if I want to spend that much on a 6970.

I still have some time to think about it though. Anyway I'm looking forward to tw33k's posts

OK...Got it stable for about the last hour. This card gets hot so I manually set the fan to 60% which kept it around 80c. The fan's quiet tho, I can't hear it at all. Once Afterburner supports voltage mods with these cards I'll be able to squeeze some more out of it. I've got the latest CCC 10.12a hotfix but GPU-Z still shows it as 10.11
