ati HD 4500 and windows 7 resolution problem

Hi everyone,

I have a HP dv7 notebook with a ati mobility radeon HD 4500 running in a windows 7 (x64) OS.
The problem I am facing is that every time I try to change the resolution of my screen it shrinks the image or the desktop to the actual area of the screen.
An image of what is happening if I try to use a smaller resolution than the pixel area of my screen is being attached.

I have installed the latest ati drivers and even tried to use an older version of the drivers but the same is happening.

Does anyone else has the same problem or might have a solution for that?????

Thank you in advance
