Individual program resolution issue

Hi guys,

I'm totally new to Windows 7 (64bit) after using WinXP for a long time. I just got a new Dell XPS 15 laptop with a 1080p screen and it looks great, except that I have an issue where some programs don't seem to be displaying in the same resolution as the desktop. I can't find any advice out there about this issue either, though perhaps that's because I'm struggling to put the issue into words succinctly.

For example, iTunes looks ""blurry" compared with other programs (explorer, WMC, etc) - http://i55.tinypic.com/2mh8nfc.png

It happens with other programs, such as Google Chrome http://i55.tinypic.com/2pob9zk.jpg

It looks to me that the container is displaying in the correct resolution, but the content isn't. I have updated all of my drivers and installed all Windows updates but this hasn't fixed the problem. I'm running at native res 1920 x 1080.

Has anyone else come across this issue? Any help or a gentle nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Matt.

Hi Matt and welcome to SF

Did you upgrade from XP to win 7?

Have you added or removed any fonts to the system?

Hi Zig Zag,

Thanks for your response. It's a new laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed.

I actually figured out the problem - because my laptop has a 15 inch monitor with 1920 x 1080 resolution I had changed the zoom setting to under Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display from 125% to 150%. Obviously some programs were unable to correctly resize with this setting. I changed back to 125% and everything is fine.

Cheers,
Matt.

Max resolution issue
Ok so I have a dated graphics card X1950GT. I wanted to set my desktop to 1920x1080 and I checked the max resolution supported by both my card and monitor. The max resolution of the monitor is 1920x1080 ok perfect. The supported resolution of the card goes far beyond that good. When I go to set...

Resolution issue.
Greetings, just wanted to find out, if there is a chance to somehow force an application - a PC game in this example - to adjust itself to a full screen mode. I'm not really sure, how to describe that, since I've never met with a such thing before. I start the game and when it launches, it...
