    Running GeForce 8800GTS in SLI

I know I have a sub-par card for ny rig(see specs) but I ran across another 8800GTS super cheap and was curious if I would benefit any from running them in SLI. Or should I just bite the bullet and get a new card?

SLI is a funny thing, the increase in performance can be anything from barely noticeable to around 30% ish. You are not going to double your performance though. Neither SLI or Crossfire is capable of that.

You could possibly dedicate one card to physx processing, but that would only increase visuals in some games.

Though I'm not 100% certain the gts supports physx, I know the gtx and ultra did, you may be able to find out more on that with some google footwork.

You'll get a boost quite a few games. When the GTX2xx series was released, I instead bought a second 8800GTS and that gave me a noticeable boost and spared me from upgrading to the more expensive 2xx series.

Hmm. Ok then. Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'll try it and see. It's only $50 I'll blow if it doesn't work anyhow.:)
