Dedicated Physx Card

Hey guys,

My dad has an old 8500GT that he doesn't use any more, and he let me use it. Right now I have the GTX 470 and I felt like messing around and making the 8500GT a dedicated Physx card.

My question is, how can I do that? Will I notice that big of a difference anyway?

Btw, The GTX 470 is by evga and I am using evga precision to monitor temps, etc. Will I be able to that with the 8500 even if it's made by XFX?

i would think you would see a differnce but a performance drop maybe.

Im not to sure about sli and crossfire configurations but that card is a very low end card vs what you are using

The 8500GT doesn't support Physx, unfortunately. The oldest card that does is an 8600.

Puzzled by games crashing when using second gfx card for PhysX
Recently my 4870 X2 failed and as I had a GT240 laying around I put that in until I could get a better card. I then purchased a GTX 460 Cyclone and ran that with the GT 240 as a dedicated PhysX card. I started up Fallout 3 and it started having random crashes on average about every 35-40...

Dedicated PhysX card: PSU question
So I'm running a GTS 250 as my main gfx card, but I have a 9800 GTX+ just lying around that I was considering using as a dedicated PhysX card. The only question is, will my 700w PSU be enough to power both cards, or do I need to jump up to 750 or 800?
