    Im looking into getting a new graphics card

    I have the dell inspiron 580s and i wanted to know if the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 will fit and work with the computer

    No the power supply is to small.
    Only 300 watt.

    How big is your Power Supply?
    It needs a Minimum of a 550 Watt

    If you get a new PSU with a Minimum of a 550 Watt & have a open PCI-Express 2.0 x 16 slot
    you should be OK

    More importantly, does your case support ATX PSU's?

    I helped a friend install a new PSU on his HP :insert model here: a couple of weeks ago, and his case didn't support ATX's PSU's.
