Help Needed for NVIDIA 8400M GT GPU

Hello there everyone, I hope not to get flamed by starting a new thread about my problem, I tried following various steps and fixes suggested in alot of other similar threads but still cant figure out whats up with my Vaio VGC-LT19U which runs on Windows Vista ultimate 64bit ( Sorry for posting in seven forum as this is the best place to ask for help).
Everything works perfectly on my PC until few days ago, Im not sure what happened but when I turned on my PC, the interface and appearance was reverted into windows standard, and since then I could not set back to Vista basic look or Aero, Im pretty sure it have something to do with the GPU as I checked the Windows Experience Index and its rated at 1.0! . So I tried reinstalling the drivers which worked the last time, but still could not get it to work..I have also tried to fix the registry and yesterday an error message came up on start up with nvsvc.dll could not be located, however when I checked the services, its there and started..this is really bugging me as I tried all I know to fix this issue..even system restore would not work for me..not only that, the computer seems to run abit slower than usual. If anyone have some suggestions or ideas..it would be fantastic and I miss a better graphic on this PC rather then looking like windows 95! Thanks in advance!

That's strange. A graphics WEI of 1.0 usually indicates that the system is using the generic VGA drivers.

I see that you have the Vista drivers from Sony installed. I'd expect those to work, although the DirectX8 business is worrying.

Can you install the latest drivers, directly form nVidia?

(You don't have a notebook, but your all-in-one desktop uses a mobile graphics controller.)

Try using a modified laptop driver from here Drivers | drivers for mobile cards and laptops | laptopvideo2go.com The 8400M GT has had several problems arise in the past this may work for yours as well.

You can also look at the bottom of the page and see more threads on the 8400M GT and possibly find a solution through one of them.
