I just dont get it! Win7 Resolution Issues

I have installed a new (to me) dvi video card on my system, which is running Windows 7 Hone version. My problem is that the monitor/card wants a high default resolution, which makes my icons/text to small. I know how to chnage the resolution, but I don't know how to make the text to an acceptable size, without using the zoom in apps, or chnage the DPI.. I want an effortless way of being able to browse and use the computer with out straining my eyes, or distorting the pictures/text.

What am I missing here??? Any step by step help would be appreciated!

Monitor -- Viewsonic VA323WM
Video Card - ATI Radeon X800xl with the most up to date drivers.

Thanks!

Find out what your monitors recommended settings are. That should work most of the time. If the text is still too small, this knowledge article should help.

Make the text on your screen larger or smaller
