    Dumb query

Have looked through tutorials and cannot find anything that gives me some VERY basic info on these devices, as Googling the subject just comes up with suggestions and leaves me baffled.

I just need to find a site or someone who can let me know how these things are rated, brands to get what features to hone in on etc etc.

Am doing a build soon and am really stuck re H or P67 boards and they are getting scarcer by the minute and if I have to us a card I won't know what the heck I am doing or what to get as there are so many of them listed as well.

Sorry but just an average user occasional simple flight sims etc and completely unsavvy re these things.

You could look at the reviews at Technology Product Reviews, News, Prices & Downloads | PCMag.com | PC Magazine or Product reviews and prices, software downloads, and tech news - CNET. Also, just try googling things like "graphic card reviews." Some of these reviews can be quite technical, or they can lead you to more technical details.

    +1 to what gogreen said.

As for Googling: I just ask my question as simply as I can and follow the thread till I get my answer.

For instance I entered "Difference H67 P67" in Google.
The top hit was this: Difference between H67 and P67 - Overclockers Forums

On that page was a link to another article here: Intel's H67/P67 to Feature SATA 6 Gbit/s, But Not USB 3.0 - Techgage

And now we know a little bit about the answer to the question.

Edit: and I just learned a new acronym I didn't need: PEG "PCI Express Graphics".

There isn't really any one site to read. I have built over a hundred computers, so here's my usual checklist, especially when I build for others.

    1. Determine uses for computer and budget
    2. Choose a processor
    3. Choose a motherboard
    4. Memory
    5. Hard drive
    6. Video card
    7. Case

Then I finish up with any peripherals, monitor, etc, and then make adjustments based on budget. Once you pick the processor, you'll be able to choose a motherboard, which will dictate the type of memory, hard drive, and video card you can get.
