    2 cards, 4 screens, win7

Hi, I'm trying to get 4 monitors running with 2 video cards:

    • OS is windows 7 x64 Ent
    • Mobo just has 1 PCI Express slot
    • I have a Radeon HD3450 and a HD2400, both PCIE
    • 1 Matrox Millenium G450, PCI

With either of the Radeons plus the Matrox, both cards show up in device manager, but only the Matrox is functional.

I've seen some seemingly contradictory info on whether this config (2 different card brands) can work (or maybe I've misunderstood, idk). Any thoughts on if / how this can work?

Also, would these work under XP? I'd consider rebuilding to XP if I knew for sure they would work. Thanks in advance.

Afraid I probably won't be much help, but yeah, XP does seem to be better for multiple monitors. Eg I got the task bar across all monitors in XP, but it only goes on one for 7. I find it odd that the PCI one is the one that gets detected. Have you gone into the multiple monitor configurations in the settings? If not, it should let you configure the displays which may solve your problem. Good luck, as multiple monitors are often a pain in windows :/
