I was just wondering if there was any GPU upgrades, any brand would do, btw, for my Acer Aspire AX3900 PC.

I currently have an ATI Radeon HD 5570, and my mother board is apparently a FIH57 model with a PCI Express slot. And my PSU is 400 watts I believe.

Thanks in advance.

You do have the proper expansion slot, however you have a very weak power supply, I'm actually surprised it even supports the 5570 according to the specs I found you only have a 220 watt psu. You're really going to need quite a bit more to be stable with a more powerful graphics card.

Ah well. Could you recommended a less power hungry card in the event I do upgrade my PSU, say, to 500 watts?

i gotta say i was really struggling to find a more powerfull psu that would fit in there.

i did find Scan.co.uk: FSP GROUP VR400A 400W Power Supply (PSU)

400 watt psu but i think your asking for alot from such a small machine.

i'd be mildly troubled by a larger psu in such a small space and would pretty much flag it as a fire hazard, my opinion ofc but i don't think the case has adequate cooling for anything larger.

Thank you for that!! So the ATI Mobility series is an example of external GPU's right?

I haven't found the documentation for your system, but I expect that the AX3900 requires a low-profile graphics card. (That's normal for small form factor PCs.)

If so, the 5570 is about as good as it gets. High-powered low-profile cards aren't made.

ATI mobility chips are usually used in notebooks, although some may find their way into all-in-one desktops.
