Have a look at Can You Run It? It looks at your computer hardware and OS and determines if you can run the games they have in their database. Take a look at a few games you like the sound of and see if you can run them.

windows 7 professional x64

my pc has a e5200 duel core processor @ 3.3GHz 4gb's ram and a 1GB radeon hd 5750 can run basically all new games generally at high levels, games i currently play on it are gta 4 (high settings) cod4 (highest settings) Crysis 2 (low to medium settings but still looks really good) dirt 2 (high settings) and many more at high

my laptop has an amd triple core @ 2.1GHz 4gb's of ram and a radeon hd 4250 (not sure of the ram for the graphics) it can run fallout nv (medium settings) gta SA and previous gta's (medium to low settings) cod4 (medium settings) and some of the older NFS i.e. carbon and before at (medium to high settings) and various other games at medium to low settings

this is not me showing of my systems im just telling you them so you can get an idea about what your's can run
also i must ask is it a laptop or pc as that can make a difference
oh also Can You Run It is good but not always 100% accurate
