How come my graphic card doesn't meet the recommended requirements?

    hello guys :)

    I bought a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 15R N5010)
My main uses are multimedia works, graphic designs & video editing etc.. i never thought about gaming, coz i already have x360 & ps3
but i wanted to know my laptop's ability to run games
so i went to: systemrequirementslab website and tried some like
crysis 2, nfs hot pursuit, ac: brotherhood.. all met the requirements
    with the green bar full.
(look at the small line near the "fast" icon, which means almost full)

but when it came to battlefield bad company 2 vietnam, wierd thing happened!

    what??
required 512, mine is 1GB (or 2.7 as they show)
required ATI Radeon HD 4870, mine is 5470

    what do u think?
i think they're wrong coz even their info about my laptop is wrong
(video ram & graphic card info are not true).

    sry for my english :S
    thanks.

It also passed the minimum requirements for BFBC2, it failed on the recommended which requires higher specs than that 5650 can do. Also that 4870 you're comparing too is the desktop version and it is quite a bit more powerful than what it in your laptop.

This will give you a much better idea as to what to expect from the HD 5650 in your laptop,

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 - Notebookcheck.net Tech

To give it another perspective, it is very close in specs to the desktop HD 5570 which you can see how that performs here,

    Radeon HD 5570 review

there are charts on the game benchmark pages that have both it and the HD 4870.

Will it play new games? Yes it will but the settings will have to be scaled back to medium or low for them to be playable.

maybe.. but i think not all new games i have to low up the settings, coz today i've installed the first game to test on my laptop, the game called Homefront "which is released less than one month" and i put ALL the settings on very high, the game ran so smooth! i'm really satisfied with its performance though i didn't buy it for gaming. thanks again :)
