After the reinstall i havent been able to chose 1920x1080 resolution and had alot problems with funktions that did not work right. i found out that the drivers might was the problem and my CD/DVD drive works again but i still cannot set my resolution to 1920x1080 and Aero effects dont work Because it says i have to update my driver so it supports WDDM... ive tried updated with windows update.. and tried some driver updateing programs

Can anyone help me ? :)

Yeah, it'll be the drivers if it worked before. Most drivers turn up in windows update after a while (sound, network, video etc.) but some you may just need to get off the manufacturer's website.

Oops: HP/Compaq are generally great with drivers, so you shouldn't have too many difficulties getting the right ones.

Oh, you did actually mean Compal! Sorry, I hadn't heard of them before.
Unfortunately, their site is apparently 'a joke' according to another person.

If this is the graphics card you have in it: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
... then ATI will hopefully have the drivers on their site.
